Irving G&T Cooperatives recognizes the importance of sustainable resources and energy conservation options. We always plan toward the future, and support the use of renewable resources to help keep rates competitive. Energy conservation is important to our members. We are involved in setting regional policies for renewable resources.

several solar panels in desertThe Elko Solar Project was formed in 2005. Members can save up to 10% of their load with our solar projects. They can offer their members green power programs to further support solar energy.

The Elko Solar Project:

  • 59.2 megawatt power generated to our members
  • 110,085 panels

wind turbines in fieldThe Winnemuca Wind Project was formed in 2011. Our members are able to receive competitive prices for wind power. Our wind farm creates economic benefits to our community.

The Winnemucca Wind Project:

  • 85.7 megawatt capacity
  • Cost is only 1 to 2 cents per kilowatt hour
